Just a quick heads up the Jason Lord, voice of General Serpentine and General Gong in Freedom Planet and Freedom Planet 2 will be livestreaming one of his custom controllers “Ultra Redundancy Machine” in roughly 20 minutes. I have no idea what game will be played, but it could be a fun time!

First off, we’ve got confirmation that Dragon Valley will be the first stage, meaning that Shang Tu and Avian Museum screencaps featured previously are from levels later in the game. Good to know!
For comparison, the background used in the nighttime cutscenes of Freedom Planet 1 near Lilac’s Treehouse and Torque’s Tent:
Notably, the cutscene background lacks the fog and mist effects visible in FP1’s Dragon Valley
FP2’s version of this art features quite a few more distant cliffs, the cloud/fog effect is retained, and the skies are far more detailed than before. However, there are no clear counterparts in the new image to the long stretches of flat plateu / mountain / cliff / hill that are shown in FP1. This leads me to believe that the two years of time have cause significant change to the local geographical features, this is a different _area_ in Dragon Valley, or that the new interpretation is simplier closer to what FP1’s Dragon Valley was intended to represent.
In any case, the new artwork is gorgeous! Tim Jonsson and Dan Syron’s works are meshing together very well! FREEDOM PLANET 2 HYPE.

There will probably be banter and interesting trivia this time around!
The game will be resuming in Story Mode just after the conclusion of Pangu Lagoon and the reveal of the true nature of the Superior Quality Bath Bomb Kingdom Stone.

Whoops, sorry, didn’t reply. Life’s getting bit and bit busier and I don’t really have much to say —
I know the progress is getting slower and slower and behind estimated schedule, I just didn’t notice that each two weeks passes so damn quickly when every day feels like a sprint, oh well… We’re aaalllmost nearing the end here for Carol and Cory, then I can finally update and prep the other “finished” characters for public test. (Carol’s bike comes somewhere in between)
Fortnight 6 update note:
- Touched up and got Cory up to speed with textures. Currently working on the facial expression thinggies, not done with it yet.TBWinger92, next week! Again! Maybe!
- Did I previously mention that this phase is very destructive and volatile and I could easily end up losing hours of work? Well, never mind, now you know.
- Carol and Cory share emotes, so I don’t have to do double work! Yipee!
- I altered the stripes on Cory’s face so she appear slightly different, hope it isn’t too unfaithful, you can compare it with Carol in image below. Oh, right, the pictures.
- Er, the only thing still missing on her is the lens on her goggles. I think. Carol’s pretty much done since last fortnight.
- Mmmm… I think Cory’s jacket should be bulkier. Will change.
- I heard some telling me that the images are missing. Just login to see all the spoiler tagged images.
Next week I should be tackling my favorite, rigging!

This is suuuuper cute and looks great! I can totally see Milla getting into gardening and botany! While I don’t entirely know what to make of the recording aspect it’s still pretty cute and fits the picture very nicely!
The fingernails are new, though. I have to wonder if that’s a new touch specifically for Aimee. I can’t see Milla doing the digging she does in FP1 with nails like that, at least. (There aren’t all that many pics of her with normal style doggie claws either though, are there?)
A lovely bit of art, and I look forward to any more like this we might see in time. Good stuff!
